In the struggle to prevail amid a competitive society people often unwittingly take on animal-like or bestial tendencies, motives, and behavior toward one another. Constructed upon a foundation of animal symbolism from various cultures, fables, mythology, and memories, the imagery within the book seeks to promote reflection on how we behave both individually and as a society, whether our thoughts and actions be intentionally malicious or simply unconscious manifestations of our intrinsic nature.
